MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY | WEEK 7 | THINGS I LIKE ABOUT MY FACE

I’m 24 and I already have some pretty permanent wrinkles on my face. Also, over the last 6 months or so I’ve realised that my  eyebrows are both completely different shapes and my left eye doesn’t open as much as my right. Also, I have consistent dark bags hanging out that won’t pack up and leave.

It’s a real life actual crisis (not really).

Because I’ve started to develop a bit more of an interest in makeup, I’m starting to notice these differences in my face – differences I hadn’t even noticed or cared about before. I tell you what, I was much happier with my face before I started spending more time looking at it. So while I’m spending all this time now looking at my face and finding things about it that I’m not all that pleased about – I think it’s probably a good idea for my mental health to find things about my face that I actually do like. This will help with my makeup application as I can use it to highlight the parts of my face I like – as well as helping my confidence.

So, here are a couple of things that I like about my face;

  • My eyelashes are long. Sometimes it’s a bit irritating wearing sunglasses after putting on mascara as it gets on the lenses, and also my eyelashes touch my eyelid leaving a mark – but I know that there are a lot of people who pay money for extensions and to have them curled, but this isn’t something I really have to worry about.
  • I have pretty good skin. I don’t moisturise or use any products on my face except for water. I never had bad acne and I only really get pimples around that time of the month. I think I’m really lucky that it’s something that I don’t need to hide with layers of foundation. While I’m fairly pale and do have dark circles under my eyes and redness around my nose – it’s smooth. I save a lot of money on not needing to care for it because it’s pretty great at looking out for itself.
