Airbnb in Philadelphia

At the bottom of this post there is a link to a $46 AUD Airbnb credit, so be sure to suss that out!

Prior to our stay in this Airbnb in Philadelphia, we had only had one attempt at Airbnb when we were in New York. It wasn’t the best experience (I’ll write about it soon) and we were a bit nervous heading into this one.

We chose this one using the same methods we use for all out accommodation, ensuring that it had all the facilities we needed and good reviews.

One thing I’ve learnt since using Airbnb quite a few times now is that people who take the time to fill out their profiles, include good photos, have lots of useful information and have published reviews, really do care about the experience that their guests have.

This was the Airbnb that truly made us realise what an awesome concept Airbnb is and that we could totally trust the system as a future accommodation option.

When we arrived, Carol met us at the door and helped bring our bags up to the room. The first things we noticed was the house was amazing and the room was much larger and brighter than the pictures indicated. Carol was so friendly, she went through everything it was that we could have wanted or needed to know, asked us about our plans and then gave us space – which we really appreciated.

The room was very well appointed and everything was thought of – even things we didn’t know we needed! We had been supplied with tokens for the trolley (the public transport system), phone chargers next to the bed (both Apple & Samsung!), we had maps and brochures for the area, colouring supplies, information about Tim & Carol’s favourite places to eat in the area, a white noise machine, our own fridge, tea and coffee supplies and even snacks! Another thing that impressed us was that we mentioned in passing to Carol that we were interested in maybe going to check out the Amish country, and the next morning when we woke up we found that she had printed off information which was highlighted and had written notes put under our door for us. Also, given that it was winter, there were cosy and warm blankets and heaters in both our room and the bathroom. We were on the middle level of the building and didn’t hear anyone in the house the entire time we were there. They also have cats, but we didn’t notice them at all. We had our own bathroom which was very comfortable with all the amenities you could imagine. We were also in very close walking proximity to a laundromat that we used, the trolley line which took us directly into town and also a few places to eat.

I would encourage anyone who is staying in Philadelphia but doesn’t need to stay right in town to consider staying at this beautiful home. We were so comfortable the whole time we were there and it was the perfect destination for us to feel homely and warm after five busy days in New York.

So, here are the details!

We arrived on the 4th of January and checked out on the 6th of January.

We paid $176 (AUD) for the whole stay.

It’s located in University City

And here is where you can book it if you’d like to stay with them!
